Area in Antalya itself was nice and felt safe. You would expect shop and restaurant owners to try and entice you into buying, just say no and move on. Complete waste of time at the beginning, wasn’t told, by rep, when booking, we’d stop at a gold jewellery store on way for 1 hour!!! Would never have booked if known. It’s all about TUI getting commission and nowt to do with what customers want. If you want to visit, get the local bus.
Antalya is renowned for its shopping and for being a haggler's paradise – it's not just beautiful landscapes and historic cities. This full day tour combines these two elements, taking you to the best places to grab a bargain and pick up a souvenir, as well as the famous Karpuzkaldiran waterfall and Antalya old town.
First up, get the lowdown on the best gold, and why it's such a good buy here. When the expert jewellers showcase their pieces, don't forget to haggle for the best deal. And if shopping's not on your agenda, just give them a polite no. The shopping gives way to Mother Nature next, with a trip to the Karpuzkaldiran waterfall. You'll be able to take some special snapshots of the water pouring over a cliff into the Mediterranean.
Afterwards, there's a visit to a textile centre for some more retail therapy. Whether you're in the mood to shop or simply browse, it's a great way to practice your bargaining skills. A guided tour of Antalya's old town, Kaleici, rounds off the day. Winding uphill from the harbour, it's a gem of a place. Ringed by Roman walls, it's all cobbled lanes, Ottoman-style houses and pretty cafés.
