Hotel pick-up and drop-offThe meeting point was easy to find but there were so many people booked on the trip that we had to listen to the guide speaking in English and then in Italian , which at times was irritating. The visit to the Murano factory was brief and the focus is on you spending money at the shop. The next visit was to Burano which we enjoyed. We would not recommend going to Torcello as there is nothing there. We wish we had spent longer in Burano and had eaten there. The trip is worth the money
Enjoy the Venice islands day trip in the northern lagoon to admire Murano, Burano and Torcello. During your 6-hours tour you will see the islands in all their beauty.
From St. Mark’s Square, you will cross the lagoon comfortably seated in a panoramic boat with a specialized guide that will explain the history and culture of the islands. The first stop will be Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry.
There you will visit one of the factories to admire a glass demonstration done by a local artist that will create a unique glass item in front of your eyes. Then you will have time to visit the lovely island. (You will stay on the island 1 hour and 15 minutes approx.)
The second stop will be on the picturesque island of Burano, famous not only for its laces manufacture but also for its fishermen's houses painted in bright colors. You will get lost through the colored streets and taste the delicious local cakes “Bussolai”. (You will stay on the island 1 hour and 30 minutes approx.)
Last, but not least will be the quiet and sparsely populated island of Torcello, the first center of civilization in the estuary. On these island, you could admire the oldest churches of the lagoon and discover how Venice was born! (You will stay on the island 1 hour approx.)
At the end of your trip, you will come back from the islands crossing all the lagoon admiring the fascinating St. Mark’s Basin from the panoramic boat, from where you can take marvelous pictures of Venice and its lagoon.
