What to expect

Discover Siwa, a verdant oasis nestled in the Western Desert of Egypt. Once known as 'palm land' in Ancient Egypt, this name reflects the abundance of palm trees for which it is famous. Your adventure begins with a comfortable transfer from your accommodation in the El-Alamain region towards the Siwa Oasis.

Here, you'll explore the ruins of the oracle temple of Zeus Amon, famed since the era of Herodotus and consulted by Alexander the Great. You'll also discover the Mountain of the Dead, home to countless tombs hailing from ancient Egyptian eras, as well as Greek and Roman periods.

Don't forget to bring along your swimwear and towels for a swim at Siwa's salt lakes. These four vast bodies of water, with their impressive depth of 4m and a 95% salt concentration, offer a unique experience. The high salt content enables you to float effortlessly on the water's surface, regardless of your swimming abilities. Round off your day with a local lunch before returning to your accommodation in El-Alamain.

The pick-up time starts in the early morning at around 2:30am from the El-Alamain hotel area. The journey to Siwa Oasis takes approximately 7 hours, with short stops at cafeterias on the road for rest and refreshments
