What to expect

Stepping into Mallorca’s bustling capital, Palma, feels like walking onto the set of your favorite fairytale. With history etched into every cobblestone, plazas abuzz with life, and the iconic cathedral overlooking the waterfront, the city forms the perfect backdrop for a marathon. And on October 18, 2026, the TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca is set to be a gold medalist. Alex, a first-time marathon runner from the previous year, says, ‘The TUI Palma Marathon is more than just a race; it’s a chance to be part of something that really celebrates and cares for this charming city. My first marathon here wasn't just about the distance; it was about the people, the food, and the views on every turn’. Choose between the full or half marathon experience, or a shorter 10km run, all with a host of other activities to take part in.

What really makes people from across the globe lace up their sneakers for the marathon goes beyond race day. The day before the race, there's a breakfast run and a pasta party, giving you the chance to load up on carbs and have fun. There’s also an expo, where you’ll not just pick up your race number – you can geek out on the latest running gear and make new friends who are just as excited about hitting the pavement. And, after the big race, the fun doesn’t just end there – there’s even a huge afterparty to look forward to.

This year, alongside TUI and Kumulus, the event’s sponsors and organizers, the marathon's taking a big leap towards sustainability and leaving no trace behind. There will be an aim to cut down on non-recyclable waste before, during, and after the race, urging everyone to bring refillable bottles and use the numerous water stations dotted around the city, and a conscious effort to team up with locals to keep things green. Because after all, you’ll be running in one of the most beautiful places in the world; let's help to keep it that way.

Palma tours with Cathedral and Valldemossa options

Take your pick from a variety of ways to visit Majorca's atmospheric capital, Palma. Explore the city at your own pace with our simple, hassle-free transport only option. Or, perhaps you would like to add a visit to the waterfront cathedral. To make the most of your day, you can pair a guided cathedral experience with a trip to the hilltop town of Valldemossa, too. Hugo, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Palma Cathedral is astonishing. The apse's rose window alone contains more than 1,100 pieces of stained-glass – and was designed to align with the façade's rose window twice a year, on 2/2 and 11/11, to create the figure of 8.'How the day unfolds depends on the option you've selected. With our Palma free time ticket, you'll have a few hours to use as you choose. Shop in the city's chic boutiques and high street fashion stores, check out plazas lined with terrace cafés, or enjoy the plentiful supply of art galleries and museums. Add the sightseeing bus option if you want to roam free without the leg work, the Elements audiovisual experience for something different during your day out, or add the tapas menu for a traditional lunch at Restaurant Gran Hotel. If you've opted for the Palma and Cathedral entrance ticket, you'll get a guided tour to explore this vast Gothic masterpiece. If you're after the premium option, this will include a visit to Valldemossa – an achingly pretty village strewn on a hill less than 30-minutes' drive from Palma. Hugo says, ‘Valldemossa is the essence of rural Majorca. Honey-hued stone houses with green shutters cluster around the belfry. Make sure to try the local potato cake, ‘coca', dipped in hot chocolate.' What is the itinerary for this experience? There are a few different options for this trip, so the itinerary differs depending on which tour you're on.
