These salt flats are a haven for migratory and coastal bird species.Thanks to its otherworldly natural landscape, Lanzarote was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1993. And the star of the show here is undoubtedly Timanfaya National Park. Cesar Manrique’s Lanzarote tour with cactus garden and LagOmar

Your final stop of the tour will be at LagOmar, a stunning spot that seamlessly combines nature and art. This unique place is set in a volcanic quarry and includes features like a cave-bar, restaurant, and a museum. Local legend has it that Hollywood icon Omar Sharif briefly owned it, only to lose it in a game of cards.

Guided wine-tasting tour of three Lanzarote vineyards

Here, vines are shielded from the winds by horseshoe-shaped stone walls, while the humidity retained by the ash helps them grow in this harsh climate. Enjoy a guided tour of the winery and taste some of its prized Malvasia wines.Next, nestled at the base of the Juan Bello volcano, you'll visit Bodega Los Bermejos. This boutique winery is famed for its artisanal approach, crafting exceptional wines from indigenous grape varieties like Malvasía Volcánica and Diego. Rounding off the tour is Bodega Suarez, a charming winery that offers visitors an authentic taste of the island's unique wine culture. Looking to really turn up the volume on your Lanzarote getaway with a night of dancing and mingling with the locals? You won't want to miss La Noche Blanca, an event in Teguise – Lanzarote's former capital – that only takes place once a year. Patricia, one of our expert local guides, says, 'think of it as a mini festival, complete with lots of live music, street performers and art pieces. The White Night at Teguise is always buzzing, an absolute delight. You can get in the festival spirit by wearing white, too. 'You'll be picked up at your hotel by your guide and driven to the event, which is all about showing off Lanzarote's art scene and culture. During your visit, you'll be able to dance along to all kinds of music, including traditional folk tunes and live DJ sets. Street performers turn out in force for this once-a-year party, as well, so expect lots of magicians, acrobats and dancers to show off their skills.Art fans are in for a treat at La Noche Blanca. The village is transformed into an open air gallery, and many shops stay open until late during the gathering, so you'll have loads of time to explore all the different exhibits – there's a big focus on showcasing work by local talent here. Patricia adds, 'the vibrant energy of the event is palpable, the streets of Teguise transform into a lively festival ground, twinkling with lights everywhere and filled with the sounds of live music echoing through the night.'

Lobos Island and Dolphin Watching Trip

Isla de Lobos, or island of the wolves, is as remote and wild as they come – and your destination for the day on this rejuvenating boat trip. You'll disembark at Lobos Island where the time's yours to swim and go in search of peace and tranquillity. During the journey to and from Lanzarote, keep an eye on the dolphins, flying fish and whales that may join us for the ride.You'll set sail from Puerto del Carmen, with Lobos Island in your sights. After about an hour and a half at sea, seeking out signs of activity for dolphins and whales, you'll land on the island's idyllic shores. White sand dunes shimmer beneath the clear seas, inviting you to swim and explore this protected natural area.Head off on one of the paths, or keep to the shores doing as much, or as little, as you like. Then, after about two hours, you'll board the jet boat once more to skirt your way back to Lanzarote – keeping watch for the flying fish that often put on a show.
