Echter vond ik de duur wel kort, dit komt omdat het vrij lang duurde voor de we dieren spotten en wanneer we ze zagen onze tijd ee bijna op zat. Was wel fijn geweest als dat organischer had gekund. Puffin island vond ik geen toegevoegde waarde want we kwamen niet zo dicht bij om ze goed te fotograveren. Ik vind het ook een groot bedrag voor dat je geen restitutie krijgt als je niets spot. Join an exciting RIB whale watching tour from Húsavík and cover a larger area of Skjálfandi Bay in search of the ocean's true giants.
After being equipped with warm safety overalls and a life jacket, step aboard a modern RIB speedboat and head out across the beautiful waters of Skjálfandi Bay. With higher speed and flexibility, the RIB allows you to travel further offshore and explore a wider area, increasing your chances of encountering some of the largest animals on Earth. While whale sightings can never be guaranteed in wild nature, this tour is designed to maximise opportunities to observe larger species such as acrobatic humpback whales and majestic blue whales in their natural environment.
During the nesting season (April 15th – August 15th approximately), the tour includes a visit to Puffin Island, where thousands of colourful Atlantic puffins – often called the “Clowns of the Ocean” – can be observed. After a short stop by the island, the journey continues into deeper waters as you search for whales with your specialised wildlife guide providing safety instructions and live commentary throughout the tour.
