Explore the dunes and rocks of the legendary Sahara desert on this 2-day excursion from Nabeul or Hammamet!
On day 1, you'll head to El Djem to visit the remarkable Roman Amphitheater dating back to the 3rd century AD and witness the grandeur and opulence of the Roman Empire. Then, you'll drive in 4x4 through lunar landscapes to reach the troglodyte village of Matmata and experience the Berber communities' way of life. After lunch, you go to the gateway of the Sahara desert, in the village of Douz where you'll enjoy a 4-star hotel and diner.
On day 2, you'll visit the salt desert Chott El Jerid, and continue to the Star Wars film set in Ong Jmel. Last, you'll visit Kairouan, a purely Arab Islamic city with its walled medina, numerous religious buildings, and colorful carpets.
