What to expect

Discover Gran Canaria's best-kept secrets on this full day tour. Starting on the sun-kissed side of the island in Mogán, this adventure is all about uncovering hidden spots, landscapes, and culture. Luca, one of our expert, local guides, says, ‘Gran Canaria's landscapes are so diverse, it's like visiting different countries in one trip – deserts, mountains, and lush valleys all in one place. With some of the most scenic routes on the cards, this tour is pure road trip goals.'

You'll kickstart with serious wow-factor views cruising through Barranco de Los Azulejos – also known as Rainbow Valley. These multi-coloured mountains are totally one-of-a-kind and guaranteed to blow your mind. Then, you'll dive deeper into the heart of the island, and arrive at La Aldea. Local guide Sam spills the beans, ‘this area is known as the island's pantry because it's bursting with goodies – from mangos and veggies to those famous La Aldea tomatoes. And don't miss the avocados – they're the creamiest you'll ever taste.' Get your camera ready for some Insta-gold pics and soak up the chill village charm.

Next, you'll drive to Agaete where the zig-zag cliffs of Dragon's Tail and Faneque cliff are perfect backdrops for your camera roll – you might even spot Mount Teide on a clear day. In Agaete you'll have free time to check out the local scene and grab a bite to eat. Then, we'll hit the showstopper Balcón viewpoint – you'll feel on top of the world – before wrapping things up at Salinas de Tenefé. Be wowed by the pink salt flats on a guided tour of the site, followed by a unique tasting experience.

When climbing and coming down the mountains in a Minibus ,there were a lot of sharp bends .... quite naturally. However, as it was early morning and I had had a very limited breakfast, taking the bends at speed, made me feel quite sick and woozy. Frequent stops helped and when the Minbus came back to level ground, I started to feel better. I don't feel this excursion is suitable for people who suffer from travel sickness. Otherwise, everything else on the TUI holiday was fine

The guide was very knowledgeable and polite. The majority of his commentary was presented in German, as the majority of the passengers in our mini bus were German and we too and another couple were English speakers ( we are Irish abd the other couple English). Most of the German commentary was extensive and then when he repeated it in English it was very much shorter. We did ask him to repeat something in English and he said German was first. I found this aspect disappointing

Good itinerary very interesting. Only fault was the system of linked minibuses. We were a convoy of 3. The guide was in one of the others, and we had great difficulty hearing what he said. So we missed most of the commentary which affected our experience.

The scenery, especially on the western side of the island, was spectacular. Our driver, Roberto, was amazing and I’m very glad that he was driving on some of those narrow roads and not me. We waited in a supermarket car park for over half an hour for all three minibuses to assemble. The commentary was very poor, done via walkie talkies and very hard to understand. During the English commentary those who didn’t speak English just kept talking making it even more difficult to understand.

The start was ok but sitting in a car park for a hour waiting for other mini buses to join the group was not good, after which the tour played catch up by racing around the Island to make up time. I would not recommend this trip to other people.
