Admission to the Rijksmuseum
Please note that special exhibitons (like the Frans Hals exhibiton) is not included. There is a special product on Musement (exhibition + entrance Rijkmsuseum afterwards)Despite a long queue to enter, it moved quickly. Layout of the museum was clearly signposted and the map of key pieces to look at was very useful. It was a good balance of classical and modern art. I would recommend visiting this museum to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
Dedicated to Dutch art and history, this amazing museum tells the story of 800 years of art in a sequence of 80 galleries.
See the work of Jan Steen, Frans Hals, Jacob van Ruisdael, Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt and Rembrandt's pupils. Rembrandt’s painting The Night Watch is considered so important that the building renovation of 2013 was designed around it.
As well as paintings, you can enjoy a collection of Asian arts and special collections of miniature silverwork, musical instruments, patriotic relics, fashion, glass, porcelain, an impressive armory and a large number of ship models. Every half-year, the Rijksmuseum displays a new exhibit from its extensive costume collection.
