Guided Atlas Mountains 4x4 tour

From sea level to high altitude, this is a full day trip with a side-order of adventure. You'll travel by 4x4 into the Atlas Mountains from the coastal plains of Agadir to discover the Berber village of Imouzzer Ida Outanane. Jamal, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Imouzzer means “waterfall” in Berber, the language of the Atlas Mountains. Indeed, there are several waterfalls in the heart of our green valley, a place known especially for the quality of its honey.'Your High Atlas Mountains off-road adventure begins with a light breakfast and then a photo stop at the cool, palm-clad Tamzargout oasis, where you can stretch our legs. As we travel higher up into the mountains, the jaw-dropping views over Paradise Valley are sure to leave an impression. We'll arrive in the village of Immouzer to see how life in a typical Berber mountain community unfolds. On hot days, you might see local kids jumping off the rocks into the natural pools just outside the village.As you stroll around the village, you'll pass stalls selling Moroccan souvenirs and the prized local honey. Jamal says, ‘My mother used to prepare an artisanal treat known as “amlou”, made with Immouzer honey mixed with crushed almonds and argan oil, a real Berber delicacy.' Next it's time for an al fresco lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You'll have some free time to relax and take in your dramatic surroundings before we return to Agadir through a different route in the mountains.

Essaouira UNESCO Heritage Site

Known as the ‘Jewel of the Atlantic', Essaouira is an atmospheric fishing port with age-old souks, pastel blue seaside houses, and a bustling UNESCO-listed Medina. You'll have plenty of time to discover this coastal gem with a guided tour and a visit to Espace Othello Gallery.

Tiout Taroudant Tour

From Agadir, you can easily head out into the surrounding countryside to discover lush green oases and historic walled towns. You'll travel to the palm-filled oasis of Tiout, get to know the traditional way of life in Taroudant and even spot a few tree-climbing goats along the way.

Private 4x4 Atlas Mountains tour with Berber breakfast and lunch

Starting at sea level on the Atlantic coast of Agadir, you'll take your adventure to the high altitudes of the Atlas Mountains on this full-day tour. Your expert, local guide will lead you on a private 4x4 tour that takes in both the cultural and natural wonder of Morocco's rural landscape. Salma, one such guide shares more, “from start to finish this day is as much about exploring the local community as it is exploring the countryside. At our first stop in Alma, we'll meet a Berber family and share a traditional breakfast of sweet mint tea and freshly baked bread.” At your next stop, at the Oasis of Tamzargout, you'll get your first taster of the palm-fringed swimming holes and rocky gorges that will characterise the rest of the trip. After some photos here that're bound to make it into your latest holiday posts, it's back in the 4x4. The road then winds through Paradise Valley, Salma adds, “it's a beautiful spot, very aptly nicknamed by Jimmy Hendrix when he visited in the 60s.” From there, as you climb into the Ida-Outanane Mountains, you'll feel the air cool and see almond and argan trees lining the track.The village of Immouzer is the centre point of this trip. At 1,160 metres above sea level, it marks the beginning of the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. You'll spend plenty of time here, checking out the cascading waterfalls, steep, rocky valleys and terraced hillsides – trust us, you won't be short of somewhere to point your camera. Settle in for a traditional lunch here, with homemade bread and olive oil, a Berber tagine and Moroccan salad. Be sure to get a taste of the local honey here for a sweet finish to your trip, before you're driven down the mountain on a different route, letting you see as much of this striking land as possible.

Two-day tour to Marrakesh and Essaouira

With plenty of time to soak up the sights and sounds of Marrakech, this two-day tour immerses you into the city's colourful past and present. You'll travel from Agadir to see some of the city's highlights, experience Djemaa el-Fna by night, dine in an opulent riad and check out the seaside city of Essaouira on your way back. Ibrahim, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘I was born and bred in Essaouira, but my family moved away when I was 14. Now, when I return, I'm filled with nostalgia as I tour the alleys where I used to play football with my Arab and Jewish friends. Essaouira has always been a multicultural melting pot.'On day one, we'll hit the road to Marrakech, where on arrival you'll delve straight into the medina's warren of tightly-packed streets. Spend the morning taking in sights as we drop by places like Jardin Secret, before lunch at Dar Nejarine. After some free time to explore, we'll head to Djemaa el-Fna at dusk – the best time to see it – before a tasty dinner and traditional entertainment in a riad.On day two we'll head to the coastal city of Essaouira. Its mellow atmosphere, narrow winding streets laden with kaleidoscopic carpets, peeling-paint houses with and heavy old wooden doors make it a wonderful place to wander around. Walk the ramparts of the harbour, known as the Skala, where electric-blue boats bob in the water, or discover the atmospheric medina. There's a lunch stop included followed by free time to explore, before returning to Agadir in the early evening.

Private full-day tour to Tiout and Taroudant from Agadir

Just beyond Agadir, the road slows down and the landscape changes pace. “Tiout is where life still follows the rhythm of the palms,” says Hassan, one of our expert local guides. “People stop to talk, share tea and let the day unfold.” You'll feel it as soon as you arrive. After passing argan trees — sometimes with goats balanced up in their branches — you'll be welcomed into a local home for sweet mint tea, poured slowly just as Moroccan tradition require. From here, you'll go for a walk through Tiout's oasis, which brings you into village life and surrounds you with swaying palm trees.Lunch is served at a traditional Kasbah in Tiout, a simple setting where you'll tuck in to chicken tajine, vegetable and meat couscous and a seasonal fruit plate to finish. Next, your journey continues to the walled town of Taroudant. With your guide leading the way, you'll walk along the old ramparts, wander through the medina and check out the souk, a marketplace where you can pick up souvenirs like lanterns and spices.On the return to Agadir, there's one final stop at Domaine Villate Limoune. As you stroll through the orange groves with your local guide, you'll learn how the fruit is grown and harvested, before tasting fresh juice straight from the source. It's a calm, fitting end to a day shaped by people, places and the small details that stay with you long after the road leads back to the coast.

Private tour of Morocco’s UNESCO-listed Essaouira with lunch

Essaouira is like a laidback, coastal cousin to the bold and boisterous Marrakech, but with full-on ancient charm credentials. You'll have plenty of time to wander inside the whitewashed Medina walls of this UNESCO-listed old town, which is brimming with age-old souks and artistic flair. As Youssef, a local expert guide, explains, “The French influence means that unlike many labyrinth-like medinas, this one has a grid layout, making it easy to find your way around the artsy stalls, spice souks and cafes.”You'll start your day with an early pick-up from your hotel in Agadir and make a couple of photo and coffee stops along the way. Your final pitstop is at the Argan Cooperative, where you'll hear about how luxury beauty products are made from the locally produced argan oil. Plus, you'll taste a few delicacies like olive oil, honey and mint tea. Then, it's onto the main event, a guided tour of Essaouira.This city's been a hub for writers, musicians and artists since the 1960s, so it's no surprise this place is loaded with tucked-away galleries and workshops, which you'll be able to check out as you tour the port, market and jewellery district. Inside the medina, there's a table at a restaurant waiting for you with the freshest catch of the day to tuck into, before some free time to roam the markets. Youseff shares his top tip, “at the spice souk look for stalls selling ras el hanout (a Moroccan spice mix) and ask for the ‘local blend' rather than the tourist jars – they'll often mix it fresh for you, and you can learn about each ingredient." After some friendly haggling with the locals, you might even have time for a walk along the beach before heading back to for your bus.

Sandboarding - Sand surfing

Morocco's Atlantic Ocean coastline is the star of this tour. Journey through tiny fishing villages and hippie hangouts en route to Taghazout – a stretch of wave-washed sand that's been a surfer's paradise since the 60s. But you won't be joining the surf crowd in the sea – instead you'll hop on a sandboard to zoom down the towering Timlalin dunes.

Cable car and souk

Soar throught the skies on a cable car ride from Agadir's Marina up to the historic Casbah of Agadir Oufella, where panoramic views of the bay and city await. You'll stop by a local Argan cooperative, where you can pick up pure Argan oil and spices. Then, finish up your adventure browsing through the bustling stalls of Souk El Had, one of Morocco's largest markets. It's a snapshot of Agadir's best, from sky-high sights to market delights.

Agadir Corocoparc

Agadir Crocoparc is one of Morocco's top things to do. It's home to 400 crocodiles, some of which are over 4 metres long. Watch them dozing on the banks and peering from the water, and coo over the beady-eyed baby crocs in the nursery. And if you're here at feeding time, there's another treat – watching the adults fight over chunks of raw meat.
