What to expect

This tour gives you the opportunity to explore the largest souk in Morocco and wander through the beautifully recreated Agadir Medina.

The city of Agadir is known for being the capital of Amazigh culture in Morocco. It is one of the few big Moroccan cities where Tamazight, one of Morocco's two official languages, is spoken by more than half of the population.

During the tour, you will walk through the city accompanied by a certified guide and head towards the city souk. Stroll the busy Medina, and interact with locals while browsing souks for local wares. Just beyond Agadir, the road slows down and the landscape changes pace. “Tiout is where life still follows the rhythm of the palms,” says Hassan, one of our expert local guides. “People stop to talk, share tea and let the day unfold.” You'll feel it as soon as you arrive. After passing argan trees — sometimes with goats balanced up in their branches — you'll be welcomed into a local home for sweet mint tea, poured slowly just as Moroccan tradition require. From here, you'll go for a walk through Tiout's oasis, which brings you into village life and surrounds you with swaying palm trees.Lunch is served at a traditional Kasbah in Tiout, a simple setting where you'll tuck in to chicken tajine, vegetable and meat couscous and a seasonal fruit plate to finish. Next, your journey continues to the walled town of Taroudant.
