Things to do in Warwick Castle
Nestled on the banks of the River Avon, Warwick Castle is a medieval fortress with over 1,000 years of history waiting to be discovered. Built by Willian the Conquerer in 1068, you’ll get to explore the castle’s well-preserved towers and chambers, including the Great Hall with its remarkable armour and relive aristocratic life through lifelike wax figures. While the dungeon offers a chilling glimpse into the castle’s darker past, step outside to explore the extensive grounds, lush gardens and riverside walks – don’t miss out on the peacock garden or birds of prey shows. Special events like jousting tournaments and seasonal festivals bring the past to life, providing an immersive experience that goes beyond sightseeing.
Why not pair a trip to Warwick Castle to explore the nearby city of Oxford and Shakespeare’s home, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Reviews Warwick Castle
“The children were ecstatic. Falconry display was impressive! Having visited Warwick Castle before, so, Wow! How expensive has the food gotten? (Inflation, etc.). However, over £9 for a cod and chips?? Hmm...for a family of four that's expensive. Why not a fireball trebuchet anymore?”
“I didn't realise the tickets allowed entry at 12noon and not at 10am when the venue opens. In the event, it didn't matter that much and of course Warwick Castle is an excellent place to visit.”
