What to expect

Join a guided tour of the Santorini Volcano and the Island of Thirassia with a roundtrip boat transfer.

Depart from Athinios port and reach the volcano of Santorini for a 90-minute visit. Take the chance to walk the volcano’s ridge and learn about its history and geology from your guide. Continue to the hot springs located on the west side of Palea Kameni island. Stop here for 30 minutes at a distance of 30 meters from the shallow waters of Agios Nicholao’s beach. The waters are mixed with mud full of sulfur, iron, and other metals coming from the volcano.

Next, visit the island of Thirassia, a 9-square-kilometer miniature of what Santorini used to be several years ago with only 300 permanent inhabitants. Explore this picturesque traditional village for about 2 hours and take the chance to taste the authentic Santorinian cuisine on your own. If you feel like it, walk to the main village of Manolas, Thirassia's capital. Admire the view over Santorini from here.

    Throughly enjoyed all aspects of this trip. Boat was lovely and the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Only concern was the chaos at the port with getting onto the boat initially which didn’t fill us with confidence but once on board and underway all went smoothly.

    We were picked up from our hotel by coach and taken to the port for the boat. The tour guide Ana was very informative and gave lots of information about the volcano. We had stops at the hot springs and 2 hours on Thirasia, enough time for lunch. Billed as a half day tour but is actually 6 hours
