The tour begins at Trajan's Column and continues along Via dei Fori Imperiali, offering sweeping views of the Roman Forum, once the political and commercial heart of the Roman Empire. Along the way, an expert guide shares stories of Roman politics, religion and daily life, pointing out temples, arches and historic landmarks.
Passing the Forums of Caesar and Augustus, you'll arrive at the Colosseum. Enter the amphitheatre in the evening, when it is quieter and more evocative, and discover the history of this iconic monument. Your guide will explain how it was built and how it evolved, as well as the spectacles that once took place here.
Guests who select the Arena Floor options will step onto the reconstructed arena itself, access areas reopened after more than 40 years, and view recently uncovered ancient graffiti. Guests choosing the options without Arena Floor will explore the Colosseum interior and upper levels. Underground areas are not included.
