Your hike begins in the charming agricultural village of Salakos, nestled at the base of Mount Profitis Ilias. After meeting your certified trekking guide and a short briefing, you'll set off on well-kept trails that gently rise through a thick woodland. As you ascend, you'll be treated to sweeping views of the Aegean Sea, the Turkish shoreline, and the islands.
Once you reach the meadow, take some time to unwind in a serene picnic area surrounded by pine trees before exploring the historic Italian-era buildings Elafos and Elafina, erected in 1929 and 1932 respectively. After a short break accompanied by snacks (including pie, granola bar, fruit and ice tea), you'll commence your descent back to Salakos.
