Lobkowicz Palace is part of the Prague Castle complex and is the only privately-owned building of the complex. The palace, now a museum and cultural landmark, was constructed in the 16th century and offers breath-taking panoramic views of Prague, an extensive art collection and museum and also hosts daily classical concerts.

Construction of the palace began in the early 16th century but only came into the possession of the Lobkowicz family one hundred years later. Throughout the following centuries, the palace was confiscated from the family on more than one occasion and was only fully returned to their possession in 2002. In 2007, after four years of restoration work, the palace was opened to the public as a private museum.

The highly acclaimed Lobkowicz Collections and Museum is composed of 22 galleries and is one of the oldest and largest privately owned collections in the Czech Republic. The Lobkowicz Collection comprises artwork and artefacts from over seven centuries and features world-famous paintings by Brueghel, Canaletto, Velázquez and others, plus ceramics, musical instruments, manuscripts from Mozart and Beethoven, and an exceptional collection of arms and armour.

The palace hosts daily concerts in the beautifully decorated Baroque concert hall. Listen to the live classical music whilst appreciating the exquisite 17th century frescoed ceilings. Please note, the lunchtime concerts are not included with general entry so need to be purchased as a package or separately.

Make a pit stop at the Palace Café and enjoy a homemade Czech or international dish in a relaxed atmosphere with panoramic views of Prague. There is also Palace Boutique on site where you can purchase exclusive gifts and souvenirs inspired by the collections.

The grounds of Prague Castle open at 9am daily and the palace museum is open every day from 10am-6pm. The palace is accessible by foot or public transport via tram.
