A visit to the picturesque, three-hilled island of Gozo is a must!
The journey commences at Ggantija, a Neolithic megalithic temple complex that predates even the pyramids of Egypt. Constructed over 5.550 years ago, these structures hold the distinction of being the world’s second-oldest man-made religious sites, surpassed only by Göbekli Tepe.
The tour then ventures towards Marsalforn, taking in the natural splendour of Gozo’s northern coast along the way. This includes passing by Marsalforn Bay, Qbajjar Bay, Xwejni Bay, the Salt Pans and the Salvatur Statue. Following this, a visit to the Crafts Centre offers a chance to sample traditional Maltese cuisine and admire local stonework, marble, lace and other handmade items - an ideal opportunity to select a distinctive souvenir.
The journey continues with a pause at the Ta’ Pinu Basilica, Gozo’s most renowned spiritual site, celebrated for its striking architecture and tranquil setting. From there, the tour proceeds to Dwejra Bay, noted for its dramatic coastal scenery. The final stop is Victoria, Gozo’s capital and home to the historic Cittadella. Initially fortified in the Bronze Age and later developed by the Phoenicians and Romans, the Cittadella has been central to island life for countless generations.
