Things to do in Seven Sisters
Rising above the English Channel, the Seven Sisters are a series of brilliant white chalk cliffs that shape one of East Sussex’s most recognisable coastal landscapes. Part of the South Downs National Park, this stretch of coastline combines rolling green hills, open countryside and far-reaching sea views, with walking trails that follow the clifftops between Seaford and Eastbourne.
Follow the coastal paths for panoramic views or head to Cuckmere Haven, where the River Cuckmere winds towards the sea beneath the white cliffs. The area is also a favourite with photographers, particularly when the chalk faces stand out against the blue water. The cliffs are constantly changing as wind and waves gradually erode the chalk, continually reshaping the coastline.
