Things to do in Postojna Cave
Visit the world-famous Postojna Cave’s 24 kilometers of underground passages, galleries and halls that were carved by the Pivka River. Discovered over 200 years ago the Karst cave attracts visitors to see its ‘Brilliant’ stalagmite, folded curtain-like formations and diverse fauna.
Explore 5km of the cave on an hour and a half cave tour riding the underground train and walking along a footpath. Enjoy subterranean scenery beginning at the stalactite covered Great Mountain cavern. Continue by foot to the Velika Gora cavern, across the Russian Bridge to the 5-meter high white stalagmite called ‘Brilliant’. Reboard your train by the Concert Hall where you will be returned to the entrance.
Finally see the captivating endemic olm on a visit to the aquarium. Marvel at the paled skinned creatures that can only be found in a very small part of the world!
