4.4/5(405)

Right in the centre of Las Palmas, Poema del Mar Aquarium brings the ocean closer than you ever imagined. Opened in 2017, it was designed to combine innovation with a genuine commitment to marine conservation, creating a space where education and discovery go hand in hand. From the tropical jungle to colourful reefs and the massive deep sea window, you’ll move through habitats loaded with green sea turtles, lionfishes and giant freshwater stingrays – plus much more.

Home to more than 300 marine species, the aquarium offers an experience that’s as fascinating for adults as it is for children. Whether you choose straightforward skip-the-line entry, combine your visit with Guayadeque Canyon and Agüimes for a broader look at the island, or opt for the bus transfer package, you can shape the day around how you like to explore.

“Bus broke down on way to aquarium, had to wait for replacement. Aquarium was just ok been to better. Shopping centre beside it was very disappointing as it was practically devoid of shops.”

“Enjoyed the aquarium and would have liked more time there. Enjoyed the traditional food but djdnt see the point of going to the village. Nothing open and waste of time. Spent too long picking people up and dropping off.”

“Poems del Mar was great , the tapas were ok , a tomato slice is a usual tapas , the little town was an absolute waste of time !! No guide , just a ramble around an empty village , possibly better if there was a map given or a guide to show you what is there ???”

“The aquarium was good and well worth a visit. Could have done with more time there though. The lunch was disjointed and came out in dribs and drabs an quite some time between dishes that should have been served together. Eating potato's on their own was not much fun. Limited drinks as well. The cave houses were interesting and we could have done with more time here. The village was a waste of time, absolutey nothing there of any interest. Wish I had saved my money and gone to the aquarium only”
