Things to do in Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura

There are over three thousand animals to see roaming within the one million square metres of desert, forest and wetland landscapes at Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura. On the east coast of the island, just outside the town of La Lajita, you’ll find a world of wildlife to explore, as well as a botanical garden that includes Europe’s largest cactus garden. You can expect a packed day of sightings in savannah-style enclosures with giraffes, African elephants and cheetahs, and visit the park’s tropical wetlands to share a smile with the resident Nile crocodiles. The park has recreated the canopies of the Madagascan forest, too, where you can take part in a special lemur experience – you’ll wander through their habitat as friendly, inquisitive ring-tailed lemurs play and jump freely around – and sometimes on – you. With regular bird of prey and sea lion shows as well, there’s something for curious kids and adventurous adults alike on a wild day out here.

“Sign posts are hard to read, a paper map would be useful.”

“We came here from Ireland. We thought for 3 days about whether to take this trip or not. We decided to go, and we don't regret it at all. We really enjoyed it. A must-visit.”

“Excellent trip with some presentations to keep you occupied throughout the day, and no supplements payable for them. Paid extra for lemur encounter and that was worth it to get up close and observe them in their enclosure, rather than through it. Parrot and exotic bird presentation was brilliant as the birds flew overhead and you observe them in the open and not in a case. Sea lion presentation was excellent and besides being entertaining, was educational, esp. re plastics in the sea.”
