The action kicks off in the scenic surrounds of Strandja Nature Park – Bulgaria's largest protected area. Pit stop for an eco-tour of the pristine forest and you'll find it's home to a rich variety of rare plants, birds and wildlife like reptiles, wild boar and even jackal.
Discover the lunar-like rock formations of Leyarnika cave and we break for lunch in the tiny hamlet of Brashljan. After a feast of traditional dishes and a folklore show performed by women of the village, there's a tour of the typical wooden houses and a tasting of locally made honey. Heading back to base, there's a final stop at a waterfall for some time to relax.
