What to expect

What better way to seek out the sights of the former Soviet satellite state than touring in an iconic Trabant. Driving your own classic East German vehicle, you'll hear the history of the area as you drop in at a local home and stop for lunch at a lakeside lodge.

After a quick briefing and a test-drive, you'll hop in your classic car and be ready to ride. Driving by beautiful Balkan scenery, you'll roll through the rustic villages of Tankovo, Aheloy and Kableshkovo, learning about the region's history as you go. Stop to see a snapshot of local life and traditions in a typical home.

Rumbling on along scenic roads, tracks and paths you'll arrive at Forest Lodge for a typical lunch in a rural setting. Once lunch is settled, try your hand at the Lodge's activities - fishing, baking or paintball - before it's time to see what the star of Soviet car production can do as you speed back to base.

Amazing experience throughout. Between driving we got to try out horse riding, paintball, archery and kneading bread.

Wij vonden het geweldig!. Alleen al de ervaring met het rijden in zo een auto. Vooral onze dochter van bijna 6 vond het fantastisch. Tijdens een lange stop werden verschillende activiteiten aangeboden; zelf brood bakken, Paard rijden, verf ballen schieten, kabelbaan, speeltuin. En Je kon ook vissen (hadden wij niet gedaan). Gids was een hele vriendelijke meneer. Vergeet geen geld mee te nemen als je eventueel nog een ander drankje wilt drinken naast de lunch.

A great experience and a fantastic way to see the countryside. Delicious, simple lunch. Problem was, there was no talk. No learning about how Brandy was made and no information about the history of Bulgaria or the soviet take over. Just driving and lunch. But it was still worth the money

The trip was fun, value for money, what a wacky experience, my day was fun from the start, not having driving left hand drive stick shift on the wrong side of road, was a challenge, but brilliant, nice drive then off roading was hilarious ????, nice lunch, great tour, not to be missed, can't say having no brake lights, indicators or rear view mirror didnt have a it's problems, but still do it again, ????
