Bucharest is the capital and largest city of Romania, as well as its cultural, industrial, and financial center. It is located in the southeast of the country on the banks of the Dâmbovita River just 60 km north of the Danube River and the border of Bulgaria.Bucharest is also called “Little Paris”. From 1900 – 1930 it was considered to be one of the most beautiful and modern European cities, very similar to Paris in terms of architecture and lifestyle. The Palace of Parliament is the second largest administrative building in the world after the Pentagon in the United States. It is also the most expensive and the heaviest building in the world.
