About an hour from the capital of Catalonia, there is the majestic mountain of Montserrat, a rock over 1236 meters high, visible for miles, with strange shapes and rounded peaks that jut into the sky. At 720 meters above sea level there is a Benedictine monastery which is almost 1000 years old. It is the symbol of Montserrat and an important site for pilgrimages. It is also linked to the legend of the Holy Grail.
