This trip takes in two of the best beauty spots outside of Benidorm. Discover the art of winemaking at Enrique Mendoza winery and then visit the charming town of Altea – considered the Costa Blanca's cultural capital.
First up is the Enrique Mendoza winery. Mixing modern science with age-old techniques, they produce some of the finest wines in the region. After a guided tour of their ageing cellars, you'll move onto the pretty garden terrace to sample a range of crisp whites and deep reds, all accompanied by their perfect snack pairing.
We'll then visit Altea – one of those Spanish towns that's got charm by the bucketload. Recognisable for its blue-domed church and sweeping views across the bay, it's as picturesque as it comes. Head up the hill into the old town – which is virtually car free – and you've free time to explore the winding cobbled lanes, flower-fronted buildings and pretty squares.
