    We had a lovely time on this tour. Our guide Julia was very knowledgeable about both the villas and also gave us tips on how to get the most out of our holiday. Would recommend

    The boat tour left our Hotel Landing at 9:15. We were on the boat travelling south as far as Isola Comacina and docked at Bellagio at 10:30. We then had two & three quarter hours in Bellagio, returning to our Hotel Landing in Menaggio at 13:30. CONCLUSION-We saw a limited amount of the Lake in approximately one & half hours, on a tour advertised as 2-4 hours, at a cost of £82 per person. NOT value for money!

Separated by a wealth of stunning scenery, the borderlands between Italy and Switzerland are a joy to explore. This trip ticks off the lakeside town of Tirano, as well as the chic Swiss resort of St Moritz, and a ride on the Bernina railway – Europe's highest alpine train and one of the world's most scenic rail routes.Flanked by pine-clad slopes, timber-framed farmsteads and grazing cows, we'll first travel to Tirano. After a quick coffee stop and a look around this lakeside town, it's on to Poschiavo where we'll board the Bernina train. Climbing high through the glacial Alps, there's plenty of time to grab some epic Instagram snaps before reaching Diavolezza.From here, it's just a short bus ride to the famous Swiss ski resort of St Moritz. With around two hours to explore, you can stop to try Swiss cheese and chocolate in a café and enjoy wow-factor views along the Engadine Valley before returning to resort via the spectacular Maloja Pass and Chiavenna.

Visit top sights like the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, explore the Parco Civico, or hit the shops in the streets around Via Nassa. For the second part of your day, you'll head back to Como, an elegant town packed with churches, parks and palaces. Piazza Cavour is a grand square overlooking the lake, a short walk from many of the major highlights such as the Cathedral with its fine interior, the Villa Olmo and the lakeside gardens.
