  • Im Winter kann die Strecke des Bernina Express aufgrund der kürzeren Tageslichtdauer teilweise verdeckte oder weniger gut sichtbare Panoramablicke bieten. Mit der Abfahrt um 16.14 Uhr in St. Moritz und der Ankunft um 18.39 Uhr in Tirano kann die Reisezeit die Tageslichtlandschaft einschränken.

Separated by a wealth of stunning scenery, the borderlands between Italy and Switzerland are a joy to explore. This trip ticks off the lakeside town of Tirano, as well as the chic Swiss resort of St Moritz, and a ride on the Bernina railway – Europe's highest alpine train and one of the world's most scenic rail routes.Flanked by pine-clad slopes, timber-framed farmsteads and grazing cows, we'll first travel to Tirano. With around two hours to explore, you can stop to try Swiss cheese and chocolate in a café and enjoy wow-factor views along the Engadine Valley before returning to resort via the spectacular Maloja Pass and Chiavenna.
