Flowers in the morning, sea views by afternoon. This day out pairs two very different sides of the Costa Blanca, starting at L'Albarda Gardens. Here, paths weave between fountains, flowerbeds and palm trees, with Valencian and Arabic design influencing the landscaping. With more than 700 plant species spread across 50,000 square metres, there are plenty of tucked-away corners to stumble upon.
Then, it's on to Denia, with a few hours to spend however you like. You can follow the marina towards the old town, lose yourself in its maze of narrow streets or settle into a waterside cafe and watch the boats drift in and out of the harbour. If you're in the mood for a little history, the hilltop castle offers a glimpse into the town's past and great views along the way.
The contrast between the two is what makes the day so enjoyable. You've got the stillness of the gardens followed by the easy rhythm of a seaside town. Together, they showcase the variety and character that make the Costa Blanca so appealing.
