As you weave up the cobbled lanes towards the top of the ridge, the views over the valley just get better and better.

Experience the magic of Altea's ‘Castell de l'Olla', a spectacular combination of music and fireworks, reflecting vibrant colours on the bay's waters. Celebrated every August, this tradition dating back decades originated from a tribute to a local pyrotechnician known as 'Uncle Blai, the rocketer', and has grown into a major Mediterranean event, attracting more than 70,000 onlookers. Months of preparation go into preparing the show, which covers a 'screen' of night sky up to 600 metres wide. Endorsed by UNESCO, this spectacle is launched entirely from the sea – enhancing the view from the coastline. We'll pick you up and bring to Altea, where you'll have free time to savour the party atmosphere.

With vividly coloured houses lining the seafront and the banks of the dried-up river bed, it's no wonder Villajoyosa means ‘the Joyful Town'.
