It was nonsense that we had to walk from our hotel to a neighbouring hotel to be picked up when the transport had to pass by our hotel to get to neighbouring hotel. First stop was the cactus gardens which most of us had understood we'd get into (at our expense) but no, this was a 10 minute photo opportunity in the car-park. Next stop 30 minutes at a beach? Wine tasting stop would be better at a local vineyard. Dropped in Haria at 5pm, all but one business closed. Manrique house also closed.☹️☹️

Uneingeschränkt verzichtbar ist der Besuch des „Blech-Kaktus“. Besonders schön war die Aussicht auf das nördliche Ende von Lanzarote bei tollen Lichtverhältnissen. Alle angefahrenen Punkte hatten ihren Charme.

The tour was sold as two experiences visiting the cactus garden. Of which we did but only outside not allowed in for 10 min. We then hadn't spend 30 min at a beach. Which was not on itinerary. We then drove on to a bodega for some wine tasting. Everyone on the trip was told we were ending the trip at a local vineyard tour. It was just a local wine cellar store of which tasted wines and jams with cheese for 10 minutes. We ran out of time for the rest of the trip. Closed. Applying for refund €67

Wine tasting stop - waste of time. No information provided on how local wines produced. Just an option to try produce in a store before purchasing. Cactus Gardens stop - again could have omitted this stop. Caleton Blanco and views of the mountains and coasts epic. Good gentle introduction to the island as a first tour of the holiday.

Picked up on time. Our first stop was a disappointing wine tasting just one tiny glass of wine and no cheese tasting. The next two stops were shocking the cactus garden carpark and a barren beach. I didn't take one photo. Then we were told we had to chose between two tours in Haria and go with the majority luckily we managed to persuade everyone to visit the House which was the reason we were on this trip. We then had some great views of Timanfya on the way home. I would not recommend this trip.

Timanfaya volcanic tour

This half-day tour is Lanzarote in a nutshell. You'll call in at El Golfo lagoon, journey through Timanfaya National Park and visit the Salinas de Janubio. Northern Lanzarote tour with Green Caves and Jameos del Agua

Larger-than-life Lanzarote legend Cesar Manrique left his imprint all over the island, but nowhere more so than the north. The architect was inspired by the region's extraordinary geology. This tour takes in three of his works – the Green Caves, Jameos del Agua and Mirador del Rio. David, one of our local guides, says, "the north of the island was a canvas for Manrique's palette. As he used to say, “the north is still the traditional Lanzarote.”First up are the Green Caves, where a maze of galleries and stairways lead you to a natural auditorium. These caverns – 16 have been discovered so far – are air bubbles that are linked by a tunnel created by the lava flow from a volcanic eruption. Manrique was instrumental in adapting the cave system for visitors. His influence is even more pronounced in the Jameos del Agua. Here, he harmonised this roofless volcanic cave, adding rock gardens and a glassy lake, filled with blind, white crabs found only in Lanzarote.Also on the agenda is Mirador del Rio, one of Manrique's most sci-fi creations. Not only does this viewpoint blend in seamlessly with its surroundings atop a 470-metre-tall cliff, but it boasts wow-factor vistas across to the island of La Graciosa. Next, you'll head to Haria, an oasis of green known as the “Valley of a Thousand Palms,” scattered with whitewashed houses and surrounded by peaks. Minivan tour of Timafaya National Park with optional camel ride

Sci-fi scenery and volcanic views – this morning in Timanfaya National Park is no ordinary tour. On this fun-filled adventure, you'll potter around a selection of Lanzarote's top attractions from the comfort of a minivan – your driver and guide are included. Star turns include the historic ‘Raven's Volcano', a visitors' centre and the El Femés viewpoint. Plus, if you fancy it, you can also book a version of this tour that includes a ride on a camel. Marian, one of our local guides, says, "you get to enter a volcano crater – it's a truly spine-tingling experience – while the optional camel ride gives you time to absorb the lunar landscape."First up is the Volcan del Cuervo, or ‘Raven's Volcano'. Located on the edge of Timanfaya National Park, it breaches from a landscape of jet-black soot. It was here that the volcanic eruptions that created Timanfaya began in 1730. Towering walls surround the crater but for a gap seared open by a river of lava, which allows you into the base. Next, you'll zip over to the Mancha Blanca Visitors' and Interpretative Centre. Have a poke around its multimedia displays and get the lowdown on the geology of the Canaries.Then, if you book this version of the tour, it's time for the more light-hearted part – the camel ride. You'll be helped on to wooden seats harnessed to the single-humped camel as a handler guides you around. It's a laugh a minute as you scale the wild and wonderful volcanic lands. Don't worry, though, if you don't fancy the camel ride, you can book a version of the tour without it included. There's also a small museum dedicated to the Canarian camel, affectionately known as ‘tochas.' You'll enjoy sweeping views from El Femés Viewpoint. Perched at 450 metres, it overlooks Los Ajaches, Playa Blanca, Fuerteventura and Lobos Island.

As the former capital of the island, this history-steeped village boasts a number of eye-catching palaces, convents, chapels and churches – all within walking distance of each other.
