Pamukkale bedeutet auf Türkisch „Watteburg“ und sobald Sie die magische Landschaft rund um die Stadt erblicken, werden Sie verstehen, warum. Sie besuchen auf diesem Ausflug auch die nahe gelegene, antike Stadt Hierapolis. Beide Städte gehören zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und zählen zu den schönsten Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Türkei.

Pamukkale mit seinen Bergterrassen, auf denen sich natürliche Quellen zu schneeweißen Stalaktiten und Felsen verfestigt haben, ist ein wahrer Blickfang. Bestaunen Sie dieses weiße Wunderland aus versteinerten Stufen und Becken, in denen seit Tausenden von Jahren Menschen gebadet haben - darunter auch römische Kaiser. Nutzen Sie ebenfalls die Gelegenheit für ein Bad in einem der Thermalbecken oder stehen Sie einfach ganz oben und genießen Sie die herrliche Aussicht.

Im Anschluss daran fahren Sie weiter zu den Ruinen des antiken Hierapolis und sehen die Nekropole, Tempel, Bäder und mehr. Das Theater ist ein echter Publikumsmagnet und Sie haben noch Zeit für einen Besuch des archäologischen Museums. Der Weg nach Pamukkale mag lang sein, aber er lohnt sich definitiv.
