Das auf der Adria schwimmende Meisterwerk Venedig steht ganz oben auf der Liste der Pflichtbesuche. An Bord eines privaten Motorbootes am Rande der Stadt kommen Sie stilvoll an der Riva degli Schiavoni an, und Ihr Reiseleiter führt Sie zum Markusplatz. Hier können Sie den wunderschönen Markusdom und den Dogenpalast nebenan bewundern. Ihre orientalisch angehauchte, byzantinisch-gotische Architektur wird Ihnen Lust auf mehr machen.

Und es gibt keine bessere Art, Venedig zu erkunden als mit einer romantischen Gondelfahrt – eine 30-minütige Fahrt ist direkt nach der Ankunft am Markusplatz möglich. Anschließend haben Sie Zeit zur freien Verfügung, um diese bezaubernde Stadt zu erkunden und vielleicht einen Platz für ein Mittagessen zu finden. Wenn Sie Lust auf etwas wirklich Typisches haben, lieben die Einheimischen ihre Cicchetti – venezianische Tapas.

Der Guide Herr Remo (wir kennen nur den Vornamen) war sehr engagiert, verfügt über ein großes Wissen über die Region und Venedig und hat in interessanter und witziger Art vieles erzählt. Es war sehr interessant, informativ und unterhaltsam. Die Gruppengrösse war sehr gut, mehr als 20 Personen wären zu viel. Weiter so !!! Danke an den Guide Remo für seine Arbeit an dem Tag. Ein hervorragender Tourguide.

Quite a long journey but comfort break on way and back. Return to coach park seemed a bit rushed with no visible headcount, but no one lost apparently. We did gondola ride and there was option of boat trip round islands, but this would half your time for looking round. Enjoyed trip and tui had 10% discount on at time. You could do this yourself but it saves the hassle, there were train strikes on at time of trip, so local transport can be unreliable at times.

Lucella the guide was brilliant her knowledge was superb and a really lovely girl too. We also went to belzano with her and again she is so good at her job. TUI is lucky to have her working for them

Brilliant day out to Venice! The coach was the same one we travelled on from the airport with no leg room so as we was the first pick up in Moderno it was 3.45 hour on the coach?? It did have a service stop so we could all use the loo but that was all you had time for. We arrived back at our hotel at 9pm, luckily the hotel had left the restaurant open…..good job as everywhere including the supermarket was closed! We were locked up at 7.25am so it is a long day! Gondola was great??

Bolzano and Renon tour with panoramic train ride

South Tyrol is the most un-Italian part of Italy. It's not just the Alpine location that sets it apart but its languages, architecture and culture. This excursion mixes the best of both worlds with time in the regional capital, Bolzano, and scenery-rich train ride through the Renon plateau. Martin, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The railway was first opened in 1907, and originally incorporated a cog section ascending 1000 metres from Bolzano, but in 1966 that section was replaced by the original cablecar.'Bolzano, or Bozen as German-speaking locals call it, is the elegant and prosperous capital of South Tyrol. With your free time in the city you could visit the Gothic cathedral, take a walk along the Talvera Promenade for views of the mountains from the riverside, or you can stroll the handsome streets and piazzas of the city, browse the shops and try some local specialities like apple strudel.And on the next leg of the trip, you'll hop into a cable car in Bolzano and ascend to the Renon plateau in a matter of minutes. Then it's time for the narrow-gauge train journey though pastoral landscapes and pretty villages. A 20-minute walk away through nature are the plateau's famous earth pyramids – well worth checking out, though worth noting it's around a kilometre walk slightly uphill. These bizarre pillars can reach heights of up to 30 metres, and while one pyramid vanishes, further up the same slope, nature is already forming a new one.

You'll have free time to explore – a swim, a kayak or pedalo adventure, or a ride up the cable car for jaw-dropping Dolomites views. Or simply stroll the lakeside paths and settle in for lunch in the pretty town.To round things off, we'll visit the Marzadro Distillery, a family-run spot known for its quality spirits. You'll tour the facility, hear how traditional liqueurs are made, then try a few for yourself – from limoncello and grappa to local cream liqueurs and gin.
