It’s nearly impossible to imagine Bratislava without picturing the Bratislava Castle. Bratislava Castle is one of the most recognized symbols of Bratislava, Slovakia. This enormous historic landmark looks down upon the city from a hill, with Bratislava’s Old Town on one side and the River Danube on the other.

The views from Bratislava Castle are spectacular. On some days you can even see Austria and Hungary from here. Inside the castle, the Slovak National Museum’s Museum of History is worth a visit. On the outside, explore the castle grounds and take a walk through the meticulously maintained courtyard to bask in the castle’s grandiosity.

Bratislava Castle’s central location makes it easily the most visited tourist attraction in the city. The building has gone through major reconstruction multiple times since its original construction sometime in the 8th or 9th century.
